Before enrolling at the University of Rhode Island, Hassan Martin got a taste of the Hurley coaching tree last night as his Curtis Warriors took on Bob Hurley’s St. Anthony Friars. And, uh… it didn’t go well for Hassan’s squad. Dan and Bobby’s father led St. Anthony to a convincing 61-31 win over the Warriors at Kean University in New Jersey. It was the 72nd consecutive victory for Hurley and the Friars, by far the longest streak in high school hoops.
At least Martin played well, right? Not quite. The St. Anthony defense held the Rhody commit to three points on 1-8 shooting, and his only field goal came in garbage time in the final minutes. The game plan for Hurley and the Friars was to deny Martin the ball and not let him get into any kind of rhythm, and it looks like it worked. The only Warriors player who did much of anything was guard Jermaine Anthony-Huff, who drained three 3-pointers as a part of scoring 15 points. No other Curtis player scored in double-figures.
So how was Hassan feeling after the game? Let’s have a look at some of his tweets:

Luckily for him, he’ll be playing for a Hurley next year instead of against one.
