There’s always next year.
That’s been the mantra the past few months among Rhody football fans. And with the release of the Rams 2013 schedule coming yesterday, next year feels like it’s coming closer. Coming off an 0-11 (0-8) season last year, URI looks to bounce back in the CAA and become a competitive force once again. And the schedule release isn’t without drama – rumors circulated over the past few weeks that Rhode Island would be playing at Penn State… and then more rumors that they would in fact not play Penn State. Only the final schedule would answer it once and for all… and the Rams will not play at Penn State. Which is too bad; according to the rumor mill, URI could have potentially netted a $300,000 paycheck, or more. Is PSU facing some sort of financial troubles or something?
Anyhow, here’s a look at Rhody’s full schedule:

A few notes:
- Stony Brook is new to to the CAA this year, coming over from the Big South Conference.
- Albany is also a new CAA add. They played in the Northeast Conference last season.
- Old Dominion is no longer in the CAA, leaving for the FBS and Conference USA.
- Old Dominion (6), Stony Brook (11), New Hampshire (13), Villanova (15), and Richmond (18) were all ranked in the Top 25 at the conclusion of last season.
