Rhode Island Rams Football: Rhody Spring Practices In Full Swing

It seems like a long way away, but the Rhode Island Rams football team has already begun preparations for the 2013 season. Rhody got their spring practices underway on Monday as they look to improve on last year’s winless campaign. The Rams officially open their season on August 31st at Fordham.

URI has held three of their fifteen practices so far, and the workouts will run through April. As usual, things will culminate with the annual Blue-White Game, which is slated for Saturday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. And even though the Rams are returning a good amount of starters, there are questions to be answered. Will Bob Bentsen still be the starting quarterback when the season begins? Who will fill the hole left by Brandon Johnson-Farrell? What can the new recruits provide to help improve last year’s God-awful defense? With 12 more practices and the Blue-White game still to come, we can hopefully start to piece those answers together.

In the meantime, here’s a look at the remaining spring practice schedule. A note: only 12 practices will occur, due to NCAA rules, so all of these dates are subject to change. Essentially, there will be no practice on three of the below dates, but they have been scheduled due to weather makeups, etc. As always, all practices are held at Meade Stadium.

Monday, April 1 – 3:45 p.m.
Wednesday, April 3 – 3:45 p.m.
