As of Wednesday, the Division I NLI regular signing period is over in men’s college basketball, and the Rhode Island Rams were a bit more active than most expected. Entering the signing period, Rhody had 11 of their 13 2013-14 scholarships accounted for, and Dan Hurley didn’t seem to be in any rush to fill those two remaining slots. But that doesn’t mean the URI staff wasn’t doing work with a bunch of different players. Over the past few months we’ve taken a look at several recruits that the Rams have shown interest in, and now that we know more, here’s a recap of who went where.

Matthew Butler (Signed LOI with Rhode Island)

Let’s start with a guy we didn’t preview at all, because we had no idea Rhody was involved with him until he signed just a few days ago. Butler was heavily recruited early on in his high school career, but an injury in his senior season left him considering the JuCo route before Hurley and Co. swooped in.

Alex Foster (Signed LOI with Texas Tech)

Well, this one was kind of expected, but Rhody gave it their best effort. The Rams had Foster on campus on Tuesday for an official visit, but the power forward has clear ties to Tubby Smith at Texas Tech. He committed to the Red Raiders on Wednesday.
