Our long national nightmare is over. Our off-season party is about to begin. Jared Terrell, one of the of the highest available players remaining in the 2014 class, has committed to the Rhode Island Rams. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman was the first to report the news, and Terrell confirmed it on his personal Twitter account.
Rhode Island has landed Jared Terrell, source told ESPN. Great late pickup for the Rams.

In case you need a refresher, here’s everything you need to know about URI’s newest commit:
Hometown: Weymouth, MA
High School: Brewster Academy
AAU Team: Expressions Elite
Weight: 225 lbs
Rhody’s pursuit of Terrell had so many twists and turns, you could write a novel about it. URI and Dan Hurley have been in on the star guard for two and a half years. Yup. Rhode Island was in Terrell’s final four schools back in September, but he instead committed to Oklahoma State. But the Rams were back on him once he was released from his NLI in Stillwater. Then Boston College got in the mix. Even Pitt tried to join the party.
But in the end, Hurley and the staff got their man, and the 2014-15 roster is really starting to take shape. Especially considering Terrell is expected to take the place of URI’s only significant loss from a season ago in Xavier Munford. Add Jarvis Garrett, Earl Watson, and Jordan Hare into the mix, and oh boy.
Next year is going to be fun, you guys.
UPDATE: 8:30 p.m.
Per a tweet from Brewster Hoops, Terrell has officially signed scholarship paperwork to attend the University of Rhode Island.
