2014 NBA Draft Profiles: Saint Joseph’s Ronald Roberts

Sure, the 2014 NBA Draft isn’t until June 26th. But for the college hoops fan, it’s pretty much all they have to look forward to now that the regular signing period is over. At least until schedule announcements, Midnight Madness’s, and full team practices. So with that a long way away, let’s continue to look at Atlantic 10 prospects in this year’s draft. Here’s a peek at Saint Joseph’s star Ronald Roberts.

What Rhody Fans Remember

Given his numbers, it’s not surprising that Roberts went off against the Rams this past year. In two games last season, the then-senior averaged 19.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and shot an insane 67 percent from the field as the Hawks swept the season series. In his junior year, Roberts posted a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) as SJU routed Rhode Island 81-44.

Prediction

Much like Reddic, Roberts put up some impressive pre-draft skills numbers. Check these out: a 7’0.5″ wingspan, a 8’9.5″ standing reach, and a 33.5″ vertical leap. His poor shooting could hurt his ability in the draft, but his freak athleticism is catching the eye of some teams. Look for him to end up in the Summer League either way, but our guess is he catches on with a team after the draft.
