So we’re a little late on this, but URI’s conference has a new, sharp-looking (literally) logo. The Atlantic 10 announced the image change back on Tuesday as part of a slew of changes around college basketball. Here’s what the commish had to say:
“The Atlantic 10 Conference has a proud and rich history, thus it was time to redesign our logo highlighting the strength, speed and commitment of this league,” stated Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. “Our branding has been updated and modernized to keep pace with our membership. I love the versatility of the new marks, including the ability of our membership to utilize the conference logos in their own approved color palette.”
For reference, here’s a look at the old A-10 logo. Definitely dated-looking. But how is everyone feeling about the new one?
It has “sharp new marks”, as the official release states. But is it… too sharp? The little mini logo in the middle of the photo above looks nice – that one will likely appear on the jerseys and shorts of all the hoops teams in the Atlantic 10. But the main logo? A little too jagged, perhaps. But it could grow on folks after seeing it a few times.
What do you guys think of the new logo? Let us know in the comments!
