There aren’t many questions surrounding this year’s Rhode Island Rams basketball team, at least when it comes to personnel. But one has surfaced lately, and it’s certainly a little concerning for Rhody fans. Sophomore big man Jordan Hare was absent from Rhody Madness, but reports were that it was excused. No big deal. But he was also absent from the Men’s Basketball Kickoff Event last night, and he was not included in the highlight video that will play before the game tomorrow evening. Of course, the video could have been filmed when Hare was away from the team. So again, nothing (really) to worry about. Until WPRI’s Yianni Kourakis tweeted this last night:

Well that can’t be good.

What we do know is that as of this posting, Hare is still on the Rhode Island Rams’ official roster. And aside from that tweet from Kourakis, there hasn’t been much news on the topic either way, other than the fact that Hare has been away from the team for personal reasons. All Rhody fans would agree that a team with Hare looks much better than a team without him. But when it comes to non-team, non-school related issues, all we can hope is that things work out for the best for Hare and his family, regardless of what happens with basketball. After all, it’s only a game.
